2 Years with my Rocket II Roadster... 2010 - 2012
Chris enjoyed two years of riding my Rocket III Roadster and it is definitely one of his favourite bikes ever.  Chris would definitely have another, albeit preferably as a second bike for posing on!

I primarily used the Rocket for commuting and it was surprisingly easy on the streets of London. It’s presence and noise made sure people didn’t miss you and the width stopped me from trying any silly manoeuvres!

When touring the bike was amazingly easy going. In fact I clocked up my longest ever ride at 890miles on the Rocket - see Best of the Alps tour. The bike was pretty easy to live with requiring minimal maintenance. It was my first shaft drive bike and I loved the lack of a chain! Cleaning was easier than I expected and overall the build quality was excellent. Frustrations included the fact that the wheel rims easily corroded in winter riding - I eventually had them painted gloss black which worked really well. Also i broke an indicator and the housing for the horn. Both were very cheap plastic made to look like chrome. Triumph really should have used better components!

Of course the Rocket is all about power and that it had in spades. Riding was thrilling especially when you pulled the throttle back. It brought a smile to my face every time. Acceleration was truly mind blowing. The riding position is not bad but I would prefer the bars to be closer to the body, I was stretched and the pegs to be further back. However, I am being picky.

My Kuryakyn luggage was awesome and has made commuting easy. Day trips are possible using my secure Pac Safe lockable waterproof bag and my enormous touring bag means I can tour in comfort and style.

Cleaning is much easier than I expected and the bike looks so good when you've finished it is a pleasure doing it.

All in all. Excellent.
