2015
Description...
Albiez-Montrond to Le Mollard on the D80
First ridden on the 2015 tour as part of route of 3
passes including Col de la Croix de Fer and Col du Glandon. Having just ridden over Col du Galibier which is rocky and desolate at the top this pass was very different. Largely pasture land and ski slopes the landscape generally was much more gentle. The roads were relatively small with the odd village here and there so not high speed. Few hairpins but not particularly predictable corners either.
The ride from Col du Mollard towards Col de la Croix de Fer was better and the roads got higher and faster.
Looking at the map I think we should have come off the A43 earlier and ridden up over Villargondran on the D80. Maybe we will try that next time - but if you have ridden it please let us know what it is like.
