Description...
D213 La Chambre via Saint-François-Longchamp to Feissonette
Starts at 400m in La Chambre with pastures, meadows and fields at the bottom, almost flat at the very start. Slightly narrow road in places although generally very easy to see ahead and generally good surface, albeit with some gravel at the edge of the road, lots of over-banding and with evidence of tractor action in 2015. Long straights up the valley and smooth contour risers with wide open bends making for a fast ride. The pass is not that steep and contains a number of ski villages including Saint-François-Longchamp. Very much recommended. A significantly improved summit from when we were last here in 2011, a new sign, a huge car park and cafés. On the way down towards Feissonette, the road is much wider with very long contour straights, although further down much narrower, similar to the way up from La Chambre possibly even tighter and narrower. The pass effectively finishes with some tight switchbacks by the N90.
